Posts tagged Bode-plot

Synonyms: Bode-plots

Anything about Bode plots, a particular type of graphical representation of the frequency response function H(f) of a system.

H(f), a complex function, is represented as two separate logarithmic plots of its magnitude |H(f)| and phase arg(H(f)) versus frequency.

Since H is a complex function of frequency, it is represented as two real functions: magnitude and phase, drawn on an x-y plot versus frequency.

Magnitude Bode plots are fully logarithmic (both axis use a logarithmic scale) and represent the magnitude of H in decibels (dB) plotted versus frequency.

Phase Bode plots are semi-logarithmic (only the horizontal frequency axis is logarithmic) and represent the phase of H in degrees or radians plotted versus frequency.

Q&A Relationship between bode plot and pole zero diagram

What is the relationship between the pole zero diagram and bode plot? Case example: a 2nd order RLC low pass filter: - $$\dfrac{V_{OUT}}{V_{IN}} = \dfrac{\frac{1}{j\omega C}}{R+j\omega L +\frac{1}...
