Subtag of capacitor

Anything related electrolytic capacitors, i.e. a particular type of capacitor whose construction requires a dielectric which is an electrolyte (traditionally in liquid form, but solid electrolytes are also used).

Electrolytic capacitors are most often polarized, i.e. their terminals are not interchangeable. They have a positive and a negative terminal and they must be connected with the right polarity in a circuit, otherwise they could get damaged (and some types may also explode).
