Subtag of circuit-theory

Anything about feedback theory and applications in electrical engineering.

Feedback refers to a series of techniques where a fraction of an output signal is "fed-back" to the input of a system (i.e. added to the input), possibly through a signal conditioning circuit. This allows to modify the system response to the input signal, obtaining some useful effects.

For example, negative feedback can improve an amplifier linearity and dynamic range, and can make its characteristics less sensitive to active components parameters tolerance.

Positive feedback, on the other hand, can transform an amplifier into an oscillator, which is a useful effect if you are designing an oscillator. However, it is a problem if the feedback is not intentional and your nice amplifier becomes a screaming noise generator.

Q&A Thermal stability coefficient [closed]

The thermal stability coefficient is defined to be: $S = \frac{dI_{C}}{dI_{CBO}}$ where $I_{CBO}$ is the reverse current of the BJT when voltage isnt applied to the base of the BJT. In case of a ...
