Anything about scattering parameters (a.k.a. S-parameters), a mathematical way to model linear networks.

S-parameters are defined in terms of ratios between amplitudes of incident and reflected waves at the terminals of a circuit. This makes them particularly suited for very high frequency applications (especially microwave circuits), where other quantities are more difficult or impossible to measure reliably.
