Would EE like a "first-time visitor" message?
We have the ability to add a dismissible message for first-time visitors to the site. This is intended to provide initial guidance on scope, rules, etc. For an example, Software Development wanted to communicate that its scope is broader than what visitors familiar with Stack Overflow would expect. If you [visit](https://software.codidact.com/) in an incognito window, you'll see this text:

> Welcome to Software Development on Codidact!
>
> Will you help us build our independent community of developers helping developers? We're small and trying to grow. We welcome questions about all aspects of software development, from design to code to QA and more. Got questions? Got answers? Got code you'd like someone to review? Please [join us](https://software.codidact.com/users/sign_up).

Electrical Engineering has [guidelines](https://electrical.codidact.com/help/intro) in the help, which is good, but people have to know to go there. Would you like a welcome message to invite people in and link to that help? If so, just let us know what it should say and we can add it for you.

This post is a followup from a [comment thread on Meta](https://meta.codidact.com/comments/thread/11933#comment-29601).
