Anything about active filters, i.e. filters which have active components (e.g. opamps) as part of their circuits.
Active filters can achieve better characteristics or performance with less discrete parts than passive filters, and those may also be cheaper, lighter and/or smaller. However they have their own cons, for example they need power and they might have stability problems in certain conditions.
