Should posting on Meta affect reputation?

+2
−0

When we launched this community, we did not yet have the ability to set different reputation grants for different categories. We've had this for a while but we failed to follow up before now, sorry.

Do you want us to change posts on Meta to not award rep for upvotes or subtract it for downvotes? This change would be retroactive, though not immediately -- the next time a certain custodial script runs, reputation levels would be adjusted to remove rep gained from Meta.

(It does feel a little odd to me that I have 300 rep on EE when I don't know a thing about the topic.)

So when is this going to get done? (5 comments)
So when is this going to get done?

It's been a month. A few people agreed, and nobody objected. Most probably rolled their eyes and thought Why do I have to get involved with this? Can't they just get it done?"".

So lets do it. This is a great example of something that should simply have been done because it makes sense without having bothered the whole community about it. Let me know if there is anything on my end you need me to do.

I've just made the configuration changes. I'll mark this completed after the recalculation script runs (I'm not sure how often that runs, so could be a day).

OK, thanks. ---

Recalc done and I am properly at 1 again. I see you've already retagged.
