is this too obvious for a post?

I recently realized something blindingly obvious that I'd overlooked for a few years - that I can generate a servicable PWM triangle wave from a micro by using two PWM outputs with timers set to slightly different frequency. (i.e. no processor load whatsoever, no analog circuitry other than the filter). Is this worth sharing here in some form?

This sounds like it could be a Paper (https://electrical.codidact.com/categories/35) if written up nicely. It doesn't make sense as a question because you're telling, not asking.

I haven't heard of this idea before, and I have definitely not used it. It sounds like rather a cute trick. You should be clear about what you get though, discuss the tradeoffs of filtering out the PWM pulses without rounding the tips of the triangle too much, and other considerations.

What you suggest would certainly be on topic and within the spirit of a Paper. The rest is up to how well you write it.
