Comment Post #279785 @Ol: The reason behind my question is some DMM is rated for 20000 counts, so it can only be 16 bits, a 14 bits is equal to only 16384 steps.

Comment Post #279785 first, thank you for the extra informations, "theoretically possible" as you expressed this answer the first question. what about the second one?

Question Digital multimeter display count range
The display counts range is one of the digital multimeter characteristics. We know that a DMM is based on an analog/digital converter, and we know too that each ADC has a certain resolution in bits. A 16 bit resolution is 216=65535 steps, log10(65536)=4.8165 digits, so something between 50000 ...

Comment Post #279600 @andyaka yes it has the same feed back/loop but in place of the diff amp there is a comparator its crazy.

Question What is the role of the differential amplifier in a delta sigma converter?
A differential amplifier amplifies the difference between the two input voltages but suppresses any voltage common to the two inputs. Based on this scheme adc the differential amplifier is substracting an input with a delayed input and outputing a tiny difference to the integrator and tha...

Question What is the difference between differential amplifier and differentiator?
Since am interested in how a delta sigma modulator works, I need to know what is the difference between differential amplifier and differentiator if there is a difference of course.
